Background

Alternatives EAP, LLC is a Kansas Chartered Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing EAP and related behavioral risk management services since 1982. Originally organized as an operating division of a prominent Kansas City occupational medicine firm, Alternatives became an independent corporation in 1999. In 2007, Alternatives was acquired by the Community Network for Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. (CommCARE), a not-for-profit behavioral health management company.

Alternatives provides services to a wide variety of employers throughout the United States. Business sectors range from local municipalities and government entities to hospital systems, libraries, manufacturers, sports franchises and public safety agencies, including those with union memberships.

Our ultimate goal is to help improve performance in the workplace. Alternatives is committed to helping your employees remain one of your true competitive advantages. We believe that a sound EAP is much more than “just a counseling program,” but must be a part of the organization’s overall strategy to help keep employees emotionally fit and productive. We help employers make sure that employees feel valued by offering the services that employees need for today’s busy personal and professional lives. Employers who actively create a healthy work culture can positively impact employee retention, attract top talent and decrease absenteeism.
